Smallest & most common falcon. Adults have paler wings, juvenile male has heavily streaked chest & barred back. Call is a shrill killy killy killy. Lives in open country & cities. They eat insects, reptiles, small mamals, small birds in winter- they hover over prey before plunging. Often perches on phone poles & frequently bobs its tail.
