<possibly a female?
Black-Faced Grassquit Tiaris bicolor L 4 1/2″ (11 cm)
Range is West Indian species, casual stray to South Florida. Bird was seen at my birdfeeder here in Long Island. It seemed to like eating mixed bird seeds & black sunflower seeds. It was seen hanging out with a group of sparrows. Song is a buzzing tik-zeee. Call is a lisping tst. Unknown if it’s native to Long Island or migratory or if this bird is mis-named? More information is needed.
